Associate Professor Emerita Kathleen Farkas and Lecturer Richard Romaniuk participated in an international conference via Zoom on Feb. 20, titled "Ukraine: Towards the West. Culture, Values and Language."

Adam Mickiewicz University sponsored the peer-reviewed conference which drew scholars from Ukraine, Poland, Canada and the United States.

The "Youth Leadership through Trauma-Oriented Care" project was sponsored by the Peace Corps and included the following members of the CWRU/Mandel School community:

  • Anju Kotwani, PhD in Social Welfare student, led a mindfulness-oriented intervention for emotional regulation
  • Shyanne Urban, MSW student, led a session on compassion and leadership
  • Christopher Batarseh, CWRU undergraduate student, presented "Leadership: Project Ukraine"
  • Mark Chupp, associate professor, gave a lecture and workshop on Asset-Based Community Development and Resident-Led Community
