The State of Ohio Department of Higher Education is offering a new workforce incentive program that can provide up to $20,000 in student loan reimbursement for eligible behavioral health professionals.

Recent graduates of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences may qualify for this relief.

There is a very short application period for this loan reimbursement—the deadline is Friday, Nov. 15.

The Great Minds Fellowship Workforce Incentive Program is designed for individuals who graduated or received certification on or after May 2023 from an eligible academic program, including mental health counseling, psychiatric and mental health nursing, substance abuse/addiction counseling, social work, or marriage and family counseling, and who commit to working full-time at one of Ohio's Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHC) for at least one year.

Eligible applicants must:

Note: This incentive is separate from the $10,000 Great Minds Fellowship. Graduates did not have to receive the fellowship to be eligible, nor does having received the fellowship preclude them from this incentive.
