Dear Students:
Mandel School Administration has heard your confusion and concerns regarding what is expected of you for this upcoming weekend’s Intensive Weekend courses. In response to the COVID-19 concerns and providing students with the best experience for the course, we have decided to provide students two options for attending courses this weekend.
Students will have the option to attend this weekend’s course in-person or remotely via Zoom Webconferencing. You will receive Zoom Log-In information for your specific course by Friday, March 13 at 5:00 PM from your instructor.
For all choosing to come to campus for class, all three classes will be held at the Mandel Center, 11402 Bellflower Road, Cleveland, OH 44106.
- SASS 516 - Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Policy and Service Delivery
- Mandel Center 107
- SASS 582 - Social Work in Child Abuse and Family Violence
- CHANGED TO: Mandel Center Room 105
- SASS 587 - Integrative Seminar in Mental Health: Adults
- Mandel Center 106
For these courses, the course will consist of both students who are in the classroom and participating through Zoom. Because this may be a new experience for attending class, please visit the UTech Zoom website to learn more, if you expect to participate via Zoom.
Additional Resources as a Student Include:
- How Do I Join a Meeting?
- Go To Zoom
- You will sign into Zoom with Single-Sign On
- Feel free to choose the option to “Host a Meeting (with Video On)” to test your camera and your audio options prior to class time
Students who decide to join class remotely, should log into the Zoom room at 8:45 AM, 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Other expectations for how students should conduct themselves in a remote classroom can be found in the Netiquette Guide created by the Mandel School.

Note: The Mandel School will remain open this weekend, including the services of the Harris Library and Market C.
We will keep you up-to-date regarding the delivery of the second weekend classes in April as events unfold.
We look forward to seeing you in class this weekend!
