Mandel School: October In-Person Diploma Ceremony Update

August 17, 2020

Dear Mandel School Class of 2020 Alumni:

Last week, President Snyder and Provost Vinson announced that a decision was made to not hold in-person diploma ceremonies in October due to the continuing threat from the coronavirus. We are writing to express our disappointment in the postponement of your in-person graduation ceremony. After all of the disruption you endured last spring, we’re disheartened by the fact that we’re still unable to give you the graduation celebration that you and your loved ones missed in May.

However, we remain committed to celebrating your accomplishments with family and friends in person when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we hope you will stay connected with us and take advantage of the special virtual programs that we regularly hold. Please remember that we are here for you as your professional home, and we want to ensure you are supported in your career endeavors. If you haven’t done so already, please join the Alumni Career Network, check out job listings, and use the free career tools all available to you on the post-graduate planning website. Don’t forget to keep us posted with any professional information you’d like to share with fellow alumni, or with your updated contact information (especially email addresses), so that you don’t miss a beat on what’s happening at the Mandel School. Send your news to Nada Di Franco in our alumni office or call 216.368.2281.

We hope you’ll join us for the online Homecoming events taking place Oct. 9-10. Registration will open in early September. We look forward to sharing details of a program that captures the spirit and fellowship of an autumn in University Circle.

Thank you again for your continued patience and positivity.

Sincerely,

Grover C. Gilmore, PhD
Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Dean in Applied Social Sciences
