Employee Supervision Certificate

Supervision is a complex combination of soft and hard skills which impact spans from executives to individual contributors. Case Western Reserve University sees supervisor learning and development as a way to continue the excellence of the university at every organizational level. In an everchanging workplace, supervisors are critical to forming the culture that steers the performance and wellbeing of an organization.

Staff and faculty members can receive an Employee Supervision Certificate of completion once requirements below are met:

Employee Supervision Certificate program guidelines

  1. Attend ten (10) qualifying, live training sessions
  2. Participate in and remain present for each entire training session (no more than 10 minutes of a training session may be missed to receive participation credit)
  3. Complete and pass a training assessment for each training session within 15 days of attendance (score 75% or higher)
  4. Complete all guidelines within three (3) semesters

Below are suggested, example tracks for employees at different stages of their supervision journey. All training sessions can be beneficial to any supervisor at any stage of their career. Employees are welcome to complete any combination of qualifying, live training sessions to complete the program.

Enrollment in the program is automatic with the completion of the first training assessment!

The program may be completed annually! Within 30 days of completing your final training session, we will confirm and validate you met the program requirements. Then, you will receive the Employee Supervision Certificate via email.

New Assessment Rubric

Starting Fall 2023, post-training assessments will be written reflections on the session's content. Assessments will be scored on an 8-point scale. To pass the assessment one must receive 75% or higher (any score 6 or higher will pass). See the scoring rubric below.
