If you’re looking to take your legal practice to the next level, Case Western Reserve University School of Law’s domestic LLM program can be a great fit.

This program is ideal for U.S.-trained lawyers who wish to:

  • Gain specialized education and experience in a particular area of law,
  • Shift to a new field of law,
  • Restart a career after taking time away from practicing law, or
  • Augment a JD degree from a lower-ranked school.

Customize Your Degree

With numerous specializations available, the LLM curriculum is designed to suit your goals. We offer four different LLM options for U.S.-trained lawyers:

  • Intellectual Property Law
  • International Business Law
  • International Criminal Law
  • International Law

If accepted, you’ll be admitted directly into a specific area of concentration.

Degree Requirements

Specific degree requirements for each specialization are developed in consultation with an assigned faculty advisor, and will be based on your goals and interests, available courses, and prior coursework completed. The degree requires a minimum of 24 credits earned over at least two semesters of study.

Bar Prep Assistance

As a U.S.-based LLM student, you can opt in to our partnership with THEMIS, one of the largest national bar review providers. Additional bar exam support is available to students in other programs at the law school.
