The CTSC of Northern Ohio accelerates the translation of biomedical discoveries into commercial ventures, clinical products, and societal impact—bridging the gap between bench science and the marketplace through training, mentorship, and funding. The CTSC of Northern Ohio provides resources and innovative programs to speed the translation of laboratory, clinic, and community innovations into interventions that benefit human health locally, statewide, and nationally. It is one of nearly 60 CTSA Programs funded by the NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS).
The CTSC directly supports entrepreneurship and commercialization activities across the School of Medicine—including training programs, venture mentoring, competition participation, and funding pathways that move promising technologies from labs to patients.
The CTSC connects researchers to programs that build commercial skills, provide mentorship, and accelerate technology transfer from the CWRU School of Medicine.
The CTSC and SOM offices offer funding to support technology development and commercial translation at every stage.
From Discovery to Impact
The CTSC supports investigators at every stage of the commercialization journey, from initial discovery through startup formation and clinical approval.
