Hosted by [U]Tech’s Teaching + Learning Technologies, Disability Resources, Kelvin Smith Library, University Marketing and Communications, and UCITE, this in-person gathering promotes digital accessibility and inclusivity tools and resources at CWRU. Featured sessions include a panel of CWRU faculty discussing ways they are working to address inclusivity in their courses, an update on campus-wide efforts to make progress on improving digital accessibility, and demos of technologies that can be used to improve course accessibility.

La Tasha Simms, Digital Accessibility Lead with Teaching + Learning Technologies, will start the day with opening remarks focused on Digital Accessibility at CWRU.

This panel of speakers will discuss the importance and impact of CWRU's Digital Accessibility Policy.

Faculty participants in the 2023-2024 High-Impact Digital Accessibility Fellowship will discuss their journeys and impact of training and support on their perceptions of digital accessibility and their course materials.

Katie Skapin, Instructional Technologist with Teaching + Learning Technologies, will demonstrate how to improve video accessibility using Echo360.

Scott Bryden, Accommodated Services Coordinator, Disability Resources, will demonstrate literacy support tools that aid reading, writing, and research.
1:30- 2:00 | Ally for Canvas
Katie Skapin is back again to demonstrate how to create more accessible online course content in Canvas.

Josie Cotton, User Experience Librarian on the Administrative Services Team, will present library resources and services that support digital accessibility.
Knowledge & Creativity Commons Scavenger Hunt
12:30-2:30 | Scavenger Hunt in the Knowledge & Creativity Commons at Kelvin Smith Library
As part of the Digital Accessibility Services and Support Scavenger Hunt, attendees will visit stations and learn more about tools and resources available to the CWRU community. Collect stamps on your event map to complete your map, then be entered into a prize drawing!
