Predoctoral Training Opportunities
Predoctoral appointees are selected from trainees admitted to the Biomedical Sciences Training Program (BSTP) at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine (see CWRU SOM Office of Medical Graduate Education).
Postdoctoral Training Opportunities
- Current PhD students or recent PhD graduates interested in the Cancer Biology Training Grant can apply by contacting Mark Jackson, PhD (mark.jackson@case.edu).
- Current PhD students or recent PhD graduates that have demonstrated exceptional productivity are eligible to apply to the Case CCC Training Scholars Program. Case CCC Training Scholars qualify for a stipend supplement of up to $10,000 above current NIH guidelines. To qualify for the Case CCC Training Scholars Program, the potential trainee must (1) have a PhD degree in a basic science discipline appropriate for further training focused on cancer research; (2) be first author on at least two peer-reviewed publications based on his/her thesis research as a predoctoral student (publications must be in journals with impact factors of 5 or above); (3) have three outstanding letters of recommendation that attest to the individual's commitment to a career in cancer research.
- Applicants to the Cancer Biology Training Grant or the Case CCC Training Scholars Program must be citizens of the United States or non-citizen nationals and may not have held a PhD for more than 3 years at the time of application.
