John Pounardjian was named Associate Director for Administration in October 2019 following appointment to Acting Associate Director for Administration in March 2019 from his role as Deputy Associate Director of Administration assumed in March 2017. He has been a member of the Case CCC Administrative team since 2012, previously serving as GI SPORE Administrator. He is nationally recognized for his multi-component grant expertise, including Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) and Specialized Program of Research Excellent (SPORE) mechanisms.
At the Case CCC, Mr. Pounardjian is responsible for administrative oversight and management of the entire research program. The range of administrative responsibilities include intra- and inter-programmatic activities, faculty recruitment for programmatic growth, pre- and post-grant management, Shared Resource infrastructure support, education and training programs, fiscal management, and a communications/information network that serves faculty investigators at this consortium center. In consultation with the Case CCC Director and working closely with senior leadership, Mr. Pounardjian manages, implements, and supports integrated strategic initiatives and scientific vision for the Case CCC; develops and manages external partnerships; cultivates philanthropic relationships; and provides staff leadership.
Prior to joining the Case CCC, Mr. Pounardjian spent eight years at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute working in research education.
