Mission
The mission of the Cancer Metabolism Shared Resource (SR) in development is to provide the investigators of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center with isotope tracing and metabolite quantification/profiling capabilities.
Services
The Cancer Metabolism SR offers isotope tracing analysis using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). We recommend investigators interested in the service contact the SR director to discuss the project. We will help design the experiment, including the choice of isotope tracer, metabolites to be monitored and metabolite quantification strategy.
The full-service includes metabolite extraction and derivatization, mass spectrometry analysis of metabolites, mass spectrometry data analysis and results reporting. The semi-self-service fee is applied to investigators who prepare samples and run the mass spectrometer by themselves. The self-service fee is applied to investigators who prepare samples, run the mass spectrometer and carry out data analysis by themselves. We will still provide necessary chemicals and GC/LC columns. Note that the fees do not include the cost for isotope tracers used.
