My experience as a fellowship-trained breast surgeon has afforded me high clinical volumes evaluating and treating breast cancer patients. I am certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. In my previous appointment as a staff breast surgeon in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I utilized ultrasound on a daily basis. Ultrasound provided an extension of my clinical examination for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, facilitating accurate staging and surgical planning through localization clip placement and/or biopsy of axillary lymph nodes. Ultrasound also provided a means of localization intraoperatively to accurately locate and resect nonpalpable breast cancers. I have basic training in cryoablation of breast tumors. I have a special interest in new technology to more accurately diagnose breast cancers and treat them effectively with minimally invasive techniques. The benefits of a MUST-guided HIFU device for non-invasive ablation of breast lesions include lower cost than comparable techniques, greater target accuracy, and expedited procedure time.
