Training Opportunities and Resources
Sparta
Conducting research involves navigating electronic research administration systems for proposals and awards, conflicts of interest and the like. Get to know how SpartaGrants, SpartaIRB and SpartaCOI all play into the research lifecycle at CWRU.
Continuing Research Education Credit (CREC) Program
Through this collaborative program among Case Western Reserve University, the MetroHealth System and University Hospitals, you can take free documented training on protecting human subjects of research.
Responsible Conduct of Research
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) standards are set forth by state and federal regulations, institutional policies, professional codes of conduct and personal convictions—and Case Western Reserve University researchers are expected to adhere to them.
Animal Care Training
When it comes to working with animals, the university’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) offers numerous research education and training resources. These include course options through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).
Biosafety Training
Case Western Reserve’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) offer training covering biosafety regulations, and all lab members must conduct lab-specific training on procedures they perform.
