Amy Korsch-Williams is a Senior Instructor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, and a faculty affiliate of the Center on Trauma and Adversity. Ms. Korsch-Williams joined the faculty full time in 2016 after spending 17 years in leadership roles within child welfare, public health and community behavioral health practice settings. Ms. Korsch Williams served as the Director of Field Education at the Mandel School from 2016-2019, and the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Field Education & Instruction from 2019- 2020. Ms. Korsch-Williams is currently the Principal Investigator and Project Director for the CWRU Community Based Integrated Behavioral Health, Opioid & Substance Use Disorders Training Program, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This federal workforce enhancement project prepares graduate and doctoral psychiatric nursing and social work students to become skilled providers in the treatment of Substance Use and Opioid Use Disorders.
Ms. Korsch-Williams is a graduate of John Carroll University (BA, 1999) and Case Western Reserve University (MSSA, 2004; CNM, 2011). She is a licensed independent social worker with a practice background in early childhood and infant mental health and development, trauma informed care, child and adolescent behavioral health and early intervention. Ms. Korsch Williams holds expertise in complex trauma and trauma informed assessment and intervention at the individual, organizational and community levels. She contributes nationally to the training and professional development of students, educators and practitioners in the area of trauma informed care in developing a framework for trauma informed social work education, both in the classroom and in field education. Ms. Korsch-Williams current research interests include intergenerational trauma and resilience in families and communities, racial trauma and the secondary transmission of trauma.
