Leotie Yard

Associate Director, Office of University Housing

Additional Information

Hi everyone! My name is Leotie (she/her) and I serve as the Associate Director in the University Housing office. I attended The Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree, majoring in Business Administration and Human Resources. While at Ohio State, I served as an office assistant for the main housing office as well as a residential community and was as an Honors & Scholars Ambassador giving tours to prospective students. These roles led me to continue my education at Western Illinois University, where I received my Masters degree in College Student Personnel and worked as an Assistant Complex Director in University Housing and Dining Services. After I graduated WIU, I moved to Fairfax, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C., to work at George Mason University. While at Mason, I held four different roles in the Housing & Residence Life office. During my time there, I developed a passion for supporting students, developing staff, and creating fair processes for our residential communities. I joined the University Housing team here at Case Western Reserve University in June of 2026, and I look forward to being a part of this great community!

You will almost never find me without a book, as I will always use a spare minute to read - so if you have any recommendations, send them my way! Other than that, when I'm not working, I like to spend time learning how to can, catching a beautiful Lake Erie sunset, exploring new restaurants with my partner, trying a new coffee shop, and walking my dog along the Cuyahoga River.

I am originally from the Northeast Ohio area, having been born in Lake County, and am happy to have returned back to The Land to work here at Case Western Reserve University. I love connecting with new folx so free feel to reach out, I'd love to hear from you!

What is a Cleveland-area activity you'd recommend to everyone?

There are truly so many activities in Cleveland to enjoy, including touring The Christmas Story house in Tremont, catching a baseball game at The Jake, grabbing a bite to eat at Presti's, and visiting the beach for a summertime sunset.
