Executive Director, Office of University Housing
Additional Information
A South Carolina native and Gamecock alumnus, Vern has spent over two decades in higher education and housing leadership across campuses in the SEC, Big Ten, and beyond—including Maryland, UCF, and Florida—before settling in Cleveland. Over the years, he has done everything from teaching first-year seminars to opening major residence halls, always driven by a commitment to making campus life welcoming, memorable, and fun. When he isn’t connecting with students and teams across campus, you’ll likely find him tracking down the best local restaurants, catching a great podcast, or exploring the city's green spaces.
What is a Cleveland-area activity you'd recommend to everyone?
Exploring the Cleveland Museum of Art and taking a walk around the Fine Arts Garden and Wade Lagoon.
