Policy Statement

Employees may be placed on administrative leave, with or without pay, to provide the university time to investigate and evaluate the circumstances regarding an allegation or pending action concerning the employee. When a university investigation is based upon an allegation that an employee has committed an act of misconduct or failed to comply with the university policies and procedures, Employee Relations may place an employee on an administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of an investigation. Supervisors must work with Employee Relations prior to placing the employee on administrative leave.

The investigation will be conducted as soon as practical. The university has the right to terminate the employee while they are on administrative leave.

If the employee was placed on administrative leave without pay, and the investigation does not corroborate the allegations, the employee will be paid for the time missed on administrative leave.
