The Frederick K. Cox International Law Center was established in 1991 through a multimillion-dollar endowment from the George Gund Foundation. The Cox Center serves as the hub of the law school's international law program, which includes The Canada-U.S. Law InstituteInstitute for Global Security, Law and PolicyHenry T. King, Jr. War Crimes Research OfficeYemen Accountability Project and Talking Foreign Policy.

  • Making an Impact on Immigration

    On June 1, 2021, United States President Joseph R. Biden Jr. issued a proclamation declaring June National Immigrant Heritage Month, encouraging reflection on the stories of “courageous families who ventured here—be it centuries ago, or just this year—from every part of the world to seek new possibilities and help to forge our nation.”  

  • Dean Scharf Receives International Bar Association Leadership Award

    When the fledgling international criminal court mock trial competition foundered a decade ago, School of Law Co-Dean Michael Scharf co-founded the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition in The Hague with Professor Carsten Stahn, Director of the Grotius Center at Leiden University School of Law.

  • CWRU’s International Criminal Court Moot Court Team Advances to Quarterfinals of the World Championship Rounds and Wins Best Brief Honors

    After qualifying by reaching the finals of the Americas Region of the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition in March, Case Western Reserve University School of Law advanced to the World Championship Rounds of the global competition for the first time in its history.
