Begun Professor and director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, said the proliferation of guns among juveniles in Northeast Ohio has contributed to the spike in violence. “One reason is that kids think everyone is carrying a gun, whether they have evidence of that or not, whether it’s for protection or not,” Flannery said.
