Returning Student Move-In

Welcome back to another year of living in the Case Western Reserve University community!

Returning students have multiple paths for moving into their Fall 2026 housing assignments. Whether you are arriving during the designated returning student move-in dates, arriving early to volunteer for first-year move-in, or arriving early for your own scheduling needs, we have your instructions outlined here to help you plan.

Move-In Dates: August 19 - August 23

Students returning to campus during the regular move-in dates of Wednesday, August 19 through Sunday, August 23 should select a move-in appointment in MyHousing to let our office know when you plan to arrive. You will find the appointment sign-up link below your room assignment and roommate information for the Fall 2026 semester in the "My Assignments" section of MyHousing.

Appointments are available 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day. Students arriving outside these hours can indicate this in the appointments section as well. Check-in takes place at the North and South Residential Village Area Offices, based on the location of your housing assignment.

We recommend completing your self check-in through MyHousing before your arrival for a smoother check-in process. Students moving into spaces that do not require an additional key may go directly to their rooms after completing their self check-in.

Blue bins will be available to assist you with your move at Wade Commons for the North Residential Village and at the Noyes Multipurpose Room for the South Residential Village during the scheduled move-in hours.

Specific instructions for move-in at Triangle Tower 2 will be available by the end of July.

Early Arrivals

Students choosing to arrive to campus early can be approved automatically for an earliest arrival of August 15 by requesting an early arrival in MyHousing. Early arrival request submissions can be found the Fall 2026 semester "My Assignments" section of MyHousing.

The cost is $50/night and will go onto your Fall SIS account.

Early arrival begins at 5:00 p.m. August 15 and August 16 to minimize additional traffic during the busier first-year move-in times. Students arriving August 17 and August 18 can begin moving in at 9:00 a.m.

Required Early Arrivals: Orientation Leaders & Student Athletes

Orientation leaders and student athletes required to arrive early as part of their position or sport will receive a move-in date agreed upon by their supervisor/coach and University Housing. Arrival dates will be updated in MyHousing for students in approved groups by August 1.

Earlier arrivals cannot be accommodated, unless the approved arrival date is later than August 15. Students requesting an earlier arrival than approved for their group will be charged the early arrival nightly rate ($50) until their pre-approved arrival date.

Move-In Volunteers

Students volunteering to assist with first-year move-in August 15 or August 16 are permitted to move-in beginning August 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the North and South Residential Village Area Offices. Volunteer registration will be verified with the Office of Student Activities & Leadership. Students interested in volunteering can register here

We recommend completing your self check-in through MyHousing before your arrival for a smoother check-in process. Students moving into spaces that do not require an additional key may go directly to their rooms after completing their self check-in.
