Lori Longs Painter, clinical instructor and field advisor, will also serve as the next director of the Intensive Weekend (IW) Program, succeeding Gerald (Jerry) Strom when he retires on July 31.
Painter has a long association with the IW program, having served as the principal field advisor for 13 cohorts of IW students since 2009.
She has also been the co-sponsor and coordinator of the Cuyahoga County Conference on Social Welfare since 2015. In this role, she worked with social workers throughout the region and consequently developed a deep network of contacts at local agencies—relationships that will be invaluable as she works with our admissions team to recruit students to the IW format.
"Lori knows our students, but more importantly, she understands what it takes to support them to succeed in the IW format," said Dean Grover C. Gilmore.
