To our faculty, students, and staff,

Thank you for your participation in the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation process for the CWRU School of Medicine.

During academic years 23-24 and 24-25, the School of Medicine will be in a period of self-study as we prepare for our LCME site visit in the spring of 2025. To support the self-study process, we have convened seven subcommittees whose members will compile information needed for accreditation, including the documentation requirements. These individuals and others will be invited to participate in critical reflection to identify areas of strength and concern.

Our medical students are a vital part of the accreditation process, participating in all aspects, especially leading the Independent Student Analysis (ISA) Committee. The ISA Committee is responsible for collecting perspectives from the entire student body on the medical education program’s compliance with LCME standards. The data from the ISA will be provided to the relevant subcommittees and contribute meaningfully to the institutional self-study.

This website serves as a resource in our work toward reaccreditation. Here, you can find information on the accreditation timeline and related initiatives, view the composition of our self-study committees, and follow up-to-date information about our targeted areas for improvement.

Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation in this important process. I am looking forward to better understanding our institution’s strengths and opportunities for growth as we move into the future as one of the nation’s leading institutions in medical education.
