Financial Literacy Curriculum (Money Matters)

Financial Literacy is the foundation on which your financial future lies. Our office’s goal is to help you build a strong financial foundation, with knowledge in personal budgeting, loan repayment, and knowing where to go for help when needed.

As an M1, we cover Budgeting and Financial Stressors. Students receiving financial aid will have a one-on-one session with a Money Mentor to review their budget for the year and planning for the years ahead.

As an M2, we explore Credit in all its forms (credit reports, credit scores, and credit cards), as well as Identity Theft, and Financial Goal Setting.

As an M3, we tackle the Cost of Residency Interviews, so you can plan ahead for financing the next big step in your education.

As an M4, we examine Loan Repayment Plans and Debt Management. We specifically cover this during your Exit Counseling session in March.

Throughout your time at Case Western Reserve University School Of Medicine, you will receive our MoneyTalks Newsletter, email outreach, and be invited to sessions from industry experts on financial wellbeing and related topics.
