Kimberly McFarlin has been appointed assistant dean for student services effective Aug. 2, 2021. Her knowledge of the Mandel School and Case Western Reserve University will enable her to work seamlessly with faculty, staff and campus partners in supporting students in the classroom and in field education.
McFarlin’s awareness and knowledge of resources developed when she served as a field advisor and the director of international affairs—skills that will be invaluable as she assumes her new position. In recent years, her leadership was especially instrumental in the development of student support programming such as Townhall Tuesdays and virtual orientation for on-ground students.
She will continue to work closely with international students in order to facilitate their transition and success at the Mandel School, into the larger Cleveland community, and beyond. The mission and work of international affairs will carry forward under student services.
"Kim brings a deeply held conviction and commitment to working with students and facilitating their success both in the classroom and field," said Associate Dean for Academic Affairs David B. Miller. "I'm excited to welcome her as the new assistant dean for student services."
