Learning Environment Policy

The CWRU School of Medicine is deeply committed to upholding the standards established by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the accrediting body for medical schools in the United States and Canada. Central to this commitment is ensuring a professional and respectful working environment for students, faculty, and staff. Since its inception, the school has prioritized strong Teacher-Learner Relationships, recognizing that a healthy environment is essential for fostering psychological and physical safety. This space allows teachers and students to collaborate effectively, helping students achieve their full potential.

In 2023, the Implementation Team further enhanced the school's approach to promoting professional ideals and a safe, inclusive environment. Key achievements included launching a private, online reporting site (AMS) for students, faculty, and staff, creating the AMS Liaison position, and developing recognition programs to celebrate excellence and positive contributions. To sustain these standards, the school and its clinical affiliates regularly evaluate the working environment and promptly address any violations that may arise. At Case Western School of Medicine, these efforts are grounded in the core principles of respect, responsibility, excellence, and growth.
