Adrianne Fletcher stepping down as vice chair, academic community and engagement

To our School of Medicine community,

Adrianna Crawford Fletcher Headshot

On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, I want to thank Adrianne Fletcher, PhD, MSSA, for her dedicated service and leadership as vice dean for academic community and engagement and to share that she is stepping down from that role on June 30.

Adrianne’s many accomplishments with the school include developing strategies to ensure the School of Medicine community is welcoming and supportive for all and developing strong relationships with faculty and staff to achieve that environment. I am grateful that Adrianne will continue her work for the university as she continues to serve as faculty at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.

During her time as vice dean, Adrianne led community discussions based on coalesced data from the Association of American Medical Colleges and University of Massachusetts Medical School Diversity Engagement Survey of faculty, staff and students. This provided vital feedback that has been very helpful in ensuring our goals and services are meeting your needs. A variety of enriching events planned with department staff Tina Roan Lining, senior director, and Tracye Conley-Jackson, program manager, provided interesting discussions and speakers on a range of topics. Most recently, the annual BRIDGES retreat brought together faculty, staff and students to foster improved communication, respect and engagement in our community.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to support a culture of belonging in which all faculty, staff, students and postdocs thrive and feel supported," said Adrianne Fletcher. “I thank the talented team I was fortunate to work with—Tina and Tracye for their dedication, and Monica Yepes-Rios and Phillip Rowland-Seymour, for their collaboration to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff together.”

Adrianne has been a practicing social work professional for the past two decades with work experience in child welfare, foster care, psychotherapy, Indian child welfare, court-appointed special advocates and veterans. She joined the Mandel School faculty in 2017 as assistant professor and was previously an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Before her current role in the School of Medicine, Adrianne was an assistant dean at the Mandel School and stepped away for a year to serve as a director at the Supreme Court of Ohio. Adrianne is a Case Western Reserve alum (SAS ‘05) and earned a PhD from Loyola University Chicago.

Please join me in thanking Adrianne for her service. I look forward to following her future accomplishments and research at the Mandel School.

Sincerely,
