In the most recent U.S. News & World Report graduate school rankings, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine came in at No. 24 nationally, solidifying once again its place as one of the nation's leaders in medical education.
As a top medical school, one of the key strengths of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine is its interdisciplinary collaborative education and research efforts anchored by more than 3,200 full-time and 4,900 part-time faculty across its five campuses—Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, MetroHealth System and University Hospitals.
Research funding continues to be a significant factor in consistently being ranked for the past ten consecutive years as a top 25 institution.
The medical school reported $346.6 million in National Institutes of Health (NIH) research funding for 2022, slightly down from $348.2. The medical school also posted an acceptance rate of 5.9 percent—.80 percentage points more selective than the previous year—and a median grade point average of 3.8, down slightly from 3.9 the previous year.
CWRU Medical School enrolls more than 3,000 students, including 983 medical, 378 PhD, 1,051 graduate and 478 undergraduate students, 65 physician assistant and 165 MSA students. The school boasts over two dozen program and degree options and consistently ranks in the top tier of medical schools for National Institutes of Health (NIH) research funding.
