Consult Tables & Tutoring is a service of the Office of Student Affairs that provides group and one-on-one tutoring to promote success in the medical school curriculum.
The Consult Tables & Tutoring Program offers complimentary tutoring and academic support services to students in the School of Medicine. It is divided into two arms: (1) Structure, which offers tutoring and academic support for GARLA (Gross Anatomy, Radiology, and Living Anatomy); and (2) Content, which offers tutoring and academic support for the following academic areas/modalities:
- Histopathology
- Case Inquiry (IQ)
- Lectures
- Medium-Sized Groups (MSGs)
- Team-Based Learning (TBL)
- Any other non-GARLA curricular sessions or student-initiated learning stemming from these modalities
Academic support services include advising students on study resources, time management strategies, and organization of information for examination preparation.
Services are offered throughout all pre-clinical blocks beginning with Block 2 (i.e., Blocks 2-6).
Tutoring is offered on a walk-in basis once per week beginning the first week of each block and progresses to two sessions per week at the midpoint of each block.
