PHOP Trip

The Peru Health Outreach Project first visited the Sacred Valley and then expanded to the PAMS clinic in Chincha Alta, Peru. In 2019, PHOP continued only at the Chincha Alta location. Considerations for opportunities in Cusco and Sacred Valley are being explored and considered for future years.

Regardless of location, participants develop and orchestrate a daily health fair for patients, have the opportunity to shadow Peruvian and American healthcare providers, and practice Spanish speaking skills. Physicians and other licensed health care providers participating on the trip provide medical care to patients, work with and teach medical students, and assist in the health fair.
