Details within such topic will include:  1.  Managed Care and the role MCO’s play in the healthcare system 2.  Characteristics of Managed Care Plans and Access to Care, Enrollment and Spending 3.  Managed Care Payment 4.  Managed Care Program Integrity 5.  Managed Care’s Effect on Outcomes/Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)/Complex Populations  6.  What is to come moving forward. Please review these reading materials in advance of the lecture. Vince Daniele is an attorney within CareSource’s Office of the General Counsel, where he focuses on providing legal advice on health insurance law and regulatory compliance to CareSource. He advises CareSource on state and federal health insurance reform, strategic planning and product development across multiple lines of business, and participation in government programs such as Medicaid managed care and Medicare Advantage. Prior to joining CareSource, Vince served as an attorney at Wright-Patt Credit Union to implement their Marijuana Related Business banking solutions. He also spent 8 years in private practice at the law firm of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr focusing on defending clients against governmental investigations. Increasing COVID-19 cases within Northeast Ohio have prompted Case Western Reserve to resume its requirement that masks be worn indoors until further notice. In addition, only those who are fully vaccinated (two weeks past their final dose) should attend any campus event. Leaders continue to monitor pandemic developments and may need to adjust health protocols further as circumstances warrant. In-person is subject to change based on COVID-19 guidelines. Attendance is virtual for non-students.
