It was a busy weekend this year at the School of Law on homecoming weekend. On Friday night, 13 new members were inducted into the Society of Benchers at their 60th induction ceremony. Established in 1962, each year the Society inducts new alumni members, as well as a faculty member and public member, on the basis of extraordinary achievement and dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession.
On Saturday morning, the Black Law Student Association held their induction ceremony and celebratory brunch in the rotunda at Gund Hall. That night, the class of 1973 held their 50th reunion at a classmate’s home in Bratenahl, while a multi-class reunion was held at the Squire Valleevue Farm in Hunting Valley.
To close out the weekend, the class of 1973 were inducted into the Barristers Golden Circle, which honors law school graduates of 50 years or more, in a brunch ceremony on Sunday morning.
Homecoming and reunion weekend previously included an alumni and faculty scholarship luncheon, held at the law school. After a number of years, we are changing the date and venue of this event to a unique and historic location in downtown Cleveland. Details will be available soon, but mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 10.
