On Saturday, Case Western Reserve School of Law concluded its inaugural launch of The Academy for Inclusive Leadership Development. Believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, The Academy included lawyers, business professionals and law students engaged in learning and obtaining the tools and skills to more effectively lead their organizations in adopting robust diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices.
Over the past 7 months, we’ve had profound dialogues on structural inequities in the legal profession (e.g, race, gender, LGBTQ), the science of bias, unconscious bias, cultural humility, micro-aggressions and micro-interventions, law firm business models, the law of DEI, performing organizational DEI assessments, leadership self-assessments and developing strategic plans.
Case Western Reserve Law School is deeply grateful to The Academy's many outstanding facilitators, and the members’ contributions to our program. We look forward to the work they will do going forward to grow the diversity of their organizations, and enhance the equitable, inclusive and belonging practices in their spaces.
