Third year law students enrolled in the IPVC Clinic provide legal advice and assistance in protecting intellectual property for small businesses, the local community and even alumni. Michael Zhou is holding for his soon to be world famous SEOUL CITY WINGS™, along with their KORE TACOS™ and DRIPP CAKE™ desserts.

Zhou and his business partner Danny Lee are clients of the IP Venture Clinic and started their own company and restaurant Redheart, LLC located at 3915 Carnegie Ave. Both Zhou and Lee are graduates of Case Western Reserve University;  Zhou earned a degree in economics, while Lee studied biochemistry and nutrition. Together, their common interest in health, fitness, food and entrepreneurship made them a perfect team for a business of providing great tasting food with a focus on being as nutritious as possible.

With the assistance of adjunct faculty member John Yirga, 3L students have been working with Zhou and Lee to provide clearance opinions and assistance in registering their new trademarks SEOUL CITY WINGS™, KORE TACOS™ and DRIPP CAKE™. The U.S. Trademark Office requires evidence of goods and services being used in connection with their respective trademarks, so the students took the opportunity to sample the products while collecting the necessary evidence.
