Leading Expert Speaks at the School of Law on Digital Assets and Cyber Security

In November, the Compliance, Risk Management and Financial Integrity Institute hosted a lecture by Sanjeev Bhasker on digital assets and cybersecurity. Bhasker serves as Deputy General Counsel with the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD), the White House. ONCD is a component of the Executive Office of the President and advises the President of the United States on cybersecurity policy and strategy. He is also a 2005 graduate of CWRU School of Law.

His lecture focused on the legal issues surrounding digital assets other emerging technologies, including the cybersecurity issues surrounding these technologies. The conversation surveyed the work of the White House’s Office of the National Cyber Director with implementing the National Cybersecurity Strategy, as well as the interagency successes of the US Department of Justice and other governmental entities. He guided the audience through existing and proposed legislation and recent litigation relating to cyber law issues.

Bhasker’s thoughtful remarks helped the audience understand that.”

The Compliance, Risk Management and Financial Integrity Institute promotes cutting-edge research in the emerging field of compliance. The Institute is designed to support Case Western Reserve University School of Law’s master and certificate programs in Compliance and Risk Management, which exist to meet the steadily increasing demand by businesses and government agencies for experts in the state, federal, and international laws and regulations that form the basis for the compliance industry.
