Heavenly Aguilar, a rising 2L student with a focus on Public Interest Law, is working as an intern for the Honorable Judge Michelle J. Sheehan of Ohio’s 8th District Court of Appeals this summer. We asked her to share some reflections from her experience.
What do you hope to gain from this opportunity?
“I want to become a better writer, have a better understanding of legal analysis, and build meaningful connections."
What are some of the projects you are working on?
"(I) draft bench memos for Judge Sheehan, attend oral arguments (and) research legal issues."
What is the best part of your internship so far?
“Judge Sheehan is open, available, and extremely enthusiastic in helping me become a better writer.”
What is your advice for other students seeking internship opportunities?
“Reach out to different organizations and groups. Do not be afraid to network and attend events.”
