Great Lakes Sports and Entertainment Law Academy
The Great Lakes Sports and Entertainment Law Academy, offered in affiliation with Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, is an online-only program available for law students across the country. It is designed to give you the knowledge and tools needed for a successful career in sports and entertainment law. Taught by world-class guest faculty, the academy students will receive practical lawyer training and compete for high-profile externships in the sports and entertainment industries following completion of the coursework.
Students choose between two concentrations for the summer academy – Sports Law and Entertainment Law. Each concentration is comprised of two courses and four total credits. The courses focus on doctrine, drafting, and negotiation in simulation-based exercises where you will represent professional athletes in a contract negotiation, counsel a professional sports franchise in negotiations with its host city, and provide legal advice to a professional musician, filmmaker or studio.
You don't need to be a Case Western Reserve law student to apply. The Great Lakes Sports and Entertainment Law Academy is open for all law students attending an ABA recognized law school that have completed their first year and are in good academic standing.
