True to its mission, the Women Faculty of the School of Medicine volunteered as judges at the 70th Annual Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair. Established in 1953, the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose goal is to get young adults interested in science and engineering by participating in a science fair competition.
Members of WFSOM, Drs. Clara Pelfrey, Mamta Singh, and Reema Gulati attended the event on March 14, 2023, and judged posters in Health & Medicine and Behavioral Science categories. Four young women from area high schools were chosen as winners, and WFSOM awarded each a $100.00 Amazon gift card and a certificate.
High School Grand Prize winners move on to the Regeneron ISEF, where they will compete with almost 1,800 students worldwide for over $4,000,000 in scholarships and scholarship prizes.
