As an annual event of the Woman Faculty of the School of Medicine (WFSOM), the Fall Mixer provides an opportunity for networking and fundraising. Donations of raffle items from local businesses and WFSOM Steering Committee members help to raise funds for a beneficiary chosen through carful consideration.
This year's beneficiary is the Cleveland Municipal School District's "All Girls Team". The CMSD's All Girls Team is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team serving high school females grades 9-12. FRC teams build very large robots (110 lbs) designed to accomplish a designated task - climb monkey bars, place cones, balance on a platform, etc.
This will be the first year to host an All Girls Team. CMSD will have the 3rd All Girls Team in the State of Ohio and the first All Girls Team to support public school girls in Northeast Ohio.
