Dr. Kimone Lightford is an Academic Hospitalist at UH St. John's Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She attended medical school in Nashville, TN at Meharry Medical College where she was prestigiously inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society during her final year of medical school. Dr. Lightford completed residency training at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Following residency, she joined the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center as a Hospitalist. During that time she, along with her colleagues, created a Social Determinants of Health longitudinal interprofessional curriculum for the Center of Outpatient Education Track. She has since joined St. John's Medical Center as Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Her clinical interests include social determinants of health, medical education and interprofessional education. In her free time, Dr. Lightford enjoys traveling, reading, learning to play guitar and spending time with her rescue pup, Roxy.
Reema Gulati, MD, MPH

Reema Gulati, M.D., M.P.H. is Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology at MetroHealth Medical Center and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case School of Medicine. She graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College/University of Delhi, receiving her M.B.B.S. with honors in Physiology. She completed her pediatric residency at MetroHealth and received an 'End of Year Exam' award for academic excellence. After that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Cleveland Clinic. She is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology and specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional diseases in children. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gulati is an ardent researcher and teacher, a champion of women's professional development and wholesome community health. Her special interests are childhood fatty liver disease, health literacy, and health disparities in marginalized populations. She authors a monthly column, "MetroHealthy," in a community newspaper. An eloquent orator, she has been invited as an expert speaker at prestigious city events like Mayor Frank Jacksons' Back to School' fair, City Hall, Cuyahoga County Public Library, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's 'Ask the Expert', Plain Dealer, and television like Channel 5 and Fox 8. She regularly publishes original research in peer-reviewed medical journals and has contributed to writing book chapters. She has received awards and scholarships like 'The Chairman's Award for Clinical Excellence,' 'Poster of Distinction' at scientific meetings, the CaseCAN Faculty Scholarship, Case's FLEX professional development program, and FRAME program awards for women faculty of the school of medicine. She is a passionate mentor to other women faculty, medical residents, and students at Case. She serves as President of the Women's Faculty of Medicine, leading women's professional development, networking, and advocacy efforts at the Case School of Medicine and affiliated hospital systems in the city. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, running marathons, reading mythological and spiritual texts (from around the world), movies, and singing.

Kath M. Bogie, D.Phil, FAIMBE is a Research Career Scientist at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) and Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), with an international reputation in translational research, leading interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered interventions that meet the complex, multifactorial problems of wound management. Her contributions include evidence-based preventive measures, including personalized biomarkers and bioinformatics for better understanding of risk complemented with smart and cost-effective technology development. Dr. Bogie earned her D.Phil as a biomedical engineer from the University of Oxford and is an elected Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, recognized for outstanding contributions to wound biotechnology development and patient-centered pressure injury management. Dr. Bogie serves on the Board of Directors for the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel, where she also co-chairs the Research Committee and serves on the Standards Committee. She also currently chairs the Education Committee of the Wound Healing Society, having completed a four year term on the Board of Directors. Dr. Bogie is co-Chair for the International Organization for Standardization microclimate standards development and serves on the RESNA Standards Committee on Wheelchair and Related Seating. Dr. Bogie is also Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering and serves on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Tissue Viability and the International Wound Journal. In addition to research and service activities, Dr. Bogie is Director of the CWRU Additive Manufacturing for Biotechnology Core Facility in the CWRU School of Medicine, where she provides support for the development and testing of novel biomedical approaches incorporating additive manufacturing to improve the quality of life and health for all. She has received continuous funding for over 20 years, from the DoD SCI Research Program, VA Rehabilitation Service, the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She has published over 85 papers and chapters and holds twelve patents.
Hulya Bukulmez, MD

Dr. Hulya Bukulmez is a graduate of Gazi University Medical School in Turkey, 1992. She then moved to the United States to do her Pediatric Residency and her Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship. Following her research interests, she moved to Cleveland in 2002. Then she started the Pediatric Rheumatology Clinics at Metro Health Medical Center in 2003.
She obtained a physician scientist development award from the National Institutes of Health and she continued pursuing genetic research while she received training in mesenchymal stem cell biology and cell therapies in the Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Bukulmez’s current research interest is in the applications of mesenchymal stem cell technology particularly in treatment of pediatric and adult rheumatologic diseases such as autoimmune vasculitis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
Timica Campbell, MD, MPH

Dr. Timica Campbell attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; where she obtained her bachelor’s degree and completed a combined MD/MPH program. Following medical school, she completed an internal medicine residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Campbell served as the chief resident of quality and patient safety at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. She worked in primary care at the Cleveland VA for 3 years before returning to University Hospitals where she currently works in primary care and serves as the director for the internal medicine continuity clinic, the Douglas Moore Clinic. Her academic interests include social determinants of health, trainee mistreatment and curriculum development.
Dr. Campbell is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She was voted outpatient faculty teacher of the year in 2023 and has won three awards for teaching innovations from Case Western School of Medicine (one on the topic of trainee mistreatment with Dr. Namboodiri). In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and plays competitive pinball.

She is vice chair of education in the department of family medicine in MetroHealth Medical Center. She is vice president and executive board member of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians and serves as a chair of Commission on Continuous Professional Development in American Academy of Family Physicians.
Susan Freimark, M.A., L.P.C.

Susan Freimark has worked at CWRU for 27 years. She is currently the Director of Faculty Development for the School of Medicine. She has served as Director of Career Services at MSASS and the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations, and Senior Associate Director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women. She develops, manages, and facilitates leadership development programs for faculty, staff and students, providing insights into best practices to navigate and succeed in organizations and teams. She has provided executive coaching for over 1000 members of the CWRU community, on issues such as workplace conflicts, defining a new career path, salary negotiations, tokenism, and power differentials. Her hallmark values are respect, collaboration, and understanding.

Marina N Magrey, MD

Marina Magrey, MD, is Roland Moskowitz, Professor of Rheumatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Division Chief of Rheumatology, and Director of Spondyloarthritis research at University Hospitals. After receiving her medical degree from the University of Kashmir, India, Dr. Magrey completed an internal medicine residency and fellowship in rheumatology at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Magrey is an internationally recognized leader in spondyloarthritis, focusing on axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. Her extensive scholarship encompasses 75 peer-reviewed publications and has significantly contributed to advancing the understanding and management of these complex diseases. Her research interests revolve around optimizing treatment strategies for patients with spondyloarthritis, and she is considered a thought leader in both clinical and research settings. She serves on the Board of Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN). Dr. Magrey is an invited member of both the Assessment in Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), which are study groups comprised of international experts in spondyloarthritis. Dr. Magrey serves as a committee member of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) for abstract review and grant reviewer for GRAPPA.
Dr. Magrey has earned several honors and is consistently rated as one of the best rheumatologists in the country. As a respected clinician and researcher, Dr. Magrey strongly believes in giving back to her community. She started the Salam Free Clinic, the first free clinic of its kind in the historically disadvantaged Hough neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.

Clara M. Pelfrey, PhD

Dr. Pelfrey is a Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine serving as Director of Program Evaluation for the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) of Northern Ohio in Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the Ohio State University. Her experience includes 19 years in translational research studying the immunology of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Dr. Pelfrey has served as a PI on her own RO1 grants and as a reviewer on NIH study sections. She is co-inventor on a patent and has been involved in clinical trials on MS. This has provided her with a thorough understanding of clinical and translational research. She served as a Scientific Review Officer for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program and the Institute for Educational Sciences, where she ran peer review panels for biomedical and educational research and prepared scientific summary statements to communicate with principal investigators. Dr. Pelfrey's other experience includes serving as Program Officer for a Cleveland Clinic pilot grant program and teaching in the graduate and medical schools at CWRU.
Dr. Pelfrey has served as the Evaluation Director since 2012. She served as the Chair of the Translational Research Evaluation Topical Interest Group within the American Evaluation Association in 2016-17 and again in 2019-20. Since 2016 she has been an active member of, and currently leads, the Translational Science Case Study Working Group. This group has published a detailed protocol for conducting successful translational science case studies and in 2021, published the first TS Case Study in the JCTS. The Case Study Group was recently awarded a 2024 Coordination, Communication, and Operations Support (CCOS) Center Working Group entitled: “Learning about the science of translation: Identifying best practices to accelerate the translational process through case studies."
Monique Robinson, MD, D Phil, FACC, FHFSA
Dr. Robinson is an advanced heart failure and heart transplantation cardiologist within University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute and an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
In her role at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Robinson is the director of the CardioMEMS program, and Vice Chair of the institutional review board.
Dr. Robinson also serves on the Greater Cleveland Division American Heart Association Board of Directors.
