The law school is negotiating strategic partnerships with scores of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and colleges serving large numbers of under-represented minorities. These partnerships are designed to significantly grow our minority law student representation and by extension, the legal profession.
The special partnership agreements include scholarships, a "zero-L" summer start, 1L summer placements, alumni mentors and other incentives designed to significantly grow and serve our minority law students.
Pipelines with strategic partners
in addition to the strategic partnerships, we are developing a summer program whereby juniors at HBCUs, HSIs, or TCUs, at no cost to them, will be invited to spend several days in Cleveland, during which they will meet with lawyers (public and private) and current students, and will learn more about the law school admissions test, the law school application process and the law school experience.
Updates on these developments are coming soon.
